The Technical Regulation Agency of Uzbekistan is the national certification body of the Republic of Uzbekistan and, in accordance with current legislation, carries out the following activities:
- implements state policy in the field of certification, establishes general rules for conducting certification, and publishes official information about them;
- develops draft programs for improving the certification system and submits them for Government consideration;
- in coordination with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, makes decisions on joining international certification systems, concludes agreements on mutual recognition of certification results, and represents the Republic of Uzbekistan in relations with other countries and international organizations on certification matters;
- defines the list of products subject to mandatory certification and submits it for approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- maintains state registers of certified products and quality expert-auditors who have passed attestation;
- exercises state control over compliance with mandatory certification requirements;
- suspends and cancels the validity of conformity certificates and conformity marks for violations of certification legislation;
- the financial sources for the activities of the “Uzstandart” agency in the field of certification consist of funds from the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan and fees for services provided by the “Uzstandart” agency.
Accredited bodies for product certification:
- establish and maintain product certification systems;
- organize and carry out certification;
- issue national conformity certificates and recognize foreign conformity certificates;
- exercise control over certified products.
In accordance with the procedures established by the relevant certification system, accredited testing laboratories (centers) conduct testing of certain products or specific types of tests and issue test reports for certification purposes.

For citizens and business entities, all services related to product certification are carried out through the Customs Information System – “Single Window” IS (http://singlewindow.uz/?lang=uz_UZ).
